Women in Politics: Jeanette Rankin In-Person
Jeanette Rankin was the first woman ever elected to Congress in 1916. She had been involved in the Suffragist Movement and was a pacifist who voted against WWI. She was re-elected to Congress in 1940 was the only person to vote against entering WWII. Learn more about this trailblazing woman in this talk by History Professor Mark Sample.
